Advisors, AI script coverage and files

An advisor is an editorial point of view you hire for a project, such as Script Doctor or Beat Structure Coach. Once hired, it shapes new AI replies and writing suggestions in that project. A project works with one advisor at a time. Script Doctor is the closest thing to AI script coverage: an AI script analysis of structure and character, with each note grounded in your scenes.

Hire an advisor

  1. Open AI advisors in the project's left rail.
  2. Read the Series Advisors and Film Advisors cards and choose Hire.
  3. To switch, hire another advisor; Scenaloom asks before it replaces the current one. You can remove an advisor at any time and hire them again later.

Hiring an advisor needs a paid plan.

The advisors

Script Doctor: AI script coverage

Finds the biggest structural and character problems and suggests focused revisions. It looks at cause and effect, the protagonist's agency, stakes, conflict, escalation, character change and thematic payoff, and grounds each note in your scenes.

Short-Drama Producer

Tightens hooks, relationships and cliffhangers for vertical short-drama episodes, with an eye on cast, locations, props and action that can actually be shot.

Beat Structure Coach

Checks the premise, turning points and ending against a beat-by-beat feature structure — catalyst, debate, midpoint reversal, low point and finale — and asks whether the final image shows change from the opening.

Mythic Journey Guide

Connects the hero's outer trials to inner change across the call, the ordeal and the return, as a lens for the story rather than a template it must fit.

Commercial Feature Advisor

Sharpens the concept, stakes and set pieces while keeping cause and effect clear.

Nonlinear Narrative Planner

Tracks story order against telling order, and what the audience and each character know at every reveal, so twists stay fair and clear.

Attaching files

Attach documents to a chat when the assistant should read them for one conversation: up to five documents, 10 MB each, with at most 200 PDF pages or 2 MB of DOCX text. The assistant reads the first 4,000 characters of each. Supported types are text, Markdown, Fountain, CSV, JSON, PDF and DOCX, and scans need OCR first. For material the AI should read across the whole project, upload it to Knowledge instead.
