How the AI assistant works
Scenaloom AI is an AI writing assistant inside each project that works on a scope you choose — a line, a scene, a selection, the outline or the whole draft — and replies with proposals. Nothing in your script changes until you apply a proposal, and every applied change is recorded so you can undo it.
Open the assistant
Open Scenaloom AI from the editor. The panel knows which project and episode you are in. Start a new chat, reopen an earlier one from Chats, and use the conversation settings to include project context or ask for concise replies. On the New page, the assistant helps shape an idea before a project exists.
Scopes: line, scene, draft
- Current line: the line the cursor is on.
- This element: the current element only.
- This scene: from the scene heading to the next one.
- Selection: the lines you selected.
- Outline: the episode's outline, for structural questions.
- Whole draft: the full episode.
Select a passage and choose Ask AI to send it to the assistant with your question already started. Up to three AI requests can be in progress at once.
Review and apply changes
When the assistant suggests edits, it lists them under Proposed changes. Apply one, or Apply all. Each applied change appears in the agent action history with Undo, and Undo all reverses a batch. If the script changed after the proposal was made, Scenaloom asks for a fresh proposal rather than applying it to the wrong line. The AI never edits silently.
What context the AI sees
- The scope you chose, read from the current draft.
- Your Worldview or Story Bible.
- Excerpts from Knowledge files: up to 8 recent documents, 4,000 characters each.
- Up to five documents attached to the chat, 10 MB each; it reads the first 4,000 characters of each.
- The advisor hired for the project, if there is one.
Script Doctor
Run Script Doctor at the top of the panel for a structural read of the episode: a score out of 100, how many scenes have conflict, notes for each scene, and issues ranked high, medium or low priority with advice. If the script changes afterwards, the panel tells you the assessment is for an earlier version.
Credits and limits
Assistant chats and writing cards come from a monthly allowance set by your plan; the Free plan includes 10 chats and 10 writing cards a month. AI writing doesn't use credits, which pay for image, video and audio generation instead. See Plans and credits.
