Scenaloom Agent Skill
The Scenaloom Agent Skill is a short set of instructions that teaches Claude and other agents how to work with your Scenaloom projects through the MCP server: which tools to call in which order, how to propose edits you can review, how screenplay elements are formatted, and when to stop and ask you. It is free and open source under the MIT license.
What the skill changes
- The model reads the scene before it edits it and keeps edits small, a scene at a time.
- It always shows you the before and after and applies a change only after you agree, then gives you the link to see it in Scenaloom.
- It treats the text of your script, comments and notes as material to work on, never as instructions to follow.
- It never starts a paid generation without telling you the cost and getting your yes, and it doesn't @mention collaborators unless you ask.
- It follows screenplay conventions: scene headings, short action lines, character cues and dialogue, in the project's own language and layout.
Claude Code: install the plugin
The plugin installs the skill and connects the Scenaloom MCP server in one step. In Claude Code, run:
/plugin marketplace add scenaloom/scenaloom-agent /plugin install scenaloom@scenaloom
Then run /mcp, pick scenaloom and sign in to approve the permissions. Ask something like "Revise scene 3 of my Night Shift script so the dialogue is tighter" and the skill takes over.
claude.ai and Claude Desktop: upload the skill
- Download the ZIP above. Don't unzip it.
- In claude.ai, open Customize, then Skills, choose + and Create skill, and upload the ZIP.
- Add the Scenaloom connector as described in Connect Scenaloom to AI apps; the skill needs it to reach your projects.
Uploaded skills are private to your Claude account. Skills need a paid Claude plan with code execution turned on.
Other agents
The skill follows the open Agent Skills format, so any agent that reads SKILL.md folders can use it: copy the scenaloom folder from the ZIP into that agent's skills directory and connect the MCP server in the agent's own settings. The source is published at github.com/scenaloom/scenaloom-agent.
