Scenaloom 0.2.0 brings story structures to the beat board, spreadsheet exports, writing goals and a formatting check, a deeper story world, and production reels you can shape by hand.
Writing
- A formatting check lists clear slips — a cue with no dialogue, dialogue with no cue, an empty heading, one character spelled two ways — each linked to its line.
- A daily word goal per project, with today's words in the format bar.
- (CONT'D) is added only when the same speaker really spoke before in the scene.
- A cover page with editable title, subtitle, edition, draft line and contact details; the author comes from your profile.
- Final Draft (.fdx) round trips keep bold, italic and underline; PDF scripts can be imported.
Structure
- The beat board can start from a three-act structure, a fifteen-beat sheet or a hero's journey, each beat placed at its usual share of the target length.
- A story map with a target script length, marking pages past it.
- Scene numbering follows one rule in every view, with locked numbers (5A, OMITTED) and locked pages.
Story world
- Characters, locations and props share one film look; look sheets start from a character's portrait and keep that face.
- Renaming a script-derived character or place follows the name into the script and the reels.
- Casting and scouting sheets, a clickable relationship graph and sortable props and reels lists.
Production
- Scene lists, shot lists, casting, locations and props download as CSV sheets that open in Excel or Google Sheets.
- Drag reel cards to reorder them and drag a shot's edge to resize it; each reel carries its own direction (mood, lens, light).
- Frames and takes show progress against their typical time, can be stopped while drawing, and download with the reel's name.
- Video projects choose orientation, type and camera when they are created.
Novels
- The project AI reads the whole manuscript; one-click tools, chapter outlines and a story bible that merges conflicting edits.
- Export chosen chapters to PDF with the layout you pick.
Also
- The plot canvas was removed from script projects; the scene board and story map cover that work.
- Editor preferences are kept per project, and each episode reopens where you left it.
